About Midland Trailquests

Midland Trailquests (MTQ) was formed in 2006 by a group of event organisers, who came together to run co-ordinated series of Trailquest events across the greater Midlands area. As dedicated Trailquesters themselves, the organisers wanted to “put something back” into the sport, and promote it to a much wider audience.

By 2010 membership had grown to more than 1500 members, making Midland Trailquests one of the largest cycling bodies in the UK, and it still continues to grow strongly. In fact, Trailquesting is now one of the fastest growing UK sports.

Midland Trailquests is a not for profit organisation. It is free to become a member and a levy from each entry fee goes part way to covering the costs of running the organisation. This is also aided by some revenue from advertising and sponsorship, but mainly the organisation is run by unpaid volunteers who give copious amounts of time and energy for free!

Midland Trailquests has progressed so quickly because of its adoption of modern technology. With the help of Internet Marketing and Web Application Development specialists Perceptis, who designed the MTQ website, online membership and automated result processing was introduced. Online event entry quickly followed and this removed much of the administrative burden, leaving the people involved able to focus on promoting great events.

We very much welcome anyone who would like to help us in whatever capacity or wishes to organise an event themselves. We try to operate to the highest standards of professionalism we can and to promote well run, quality events in some fantastic countryside.
