| HELP USING THIS SITE
REGISTRATION
To ride a Midland Trailquests event you must register for membership. It is a condition of our insurance that only registered members can take part in our events. Membership is free, does not need to be renewed and takes just a couple of minutes. You must register online as we have no postal membership application service.
When registering you will be asked to enter a password and you will automatically be allocated an MTQ number at the end of the registration process. These are used to allow you to log in to enter events or amend your registration details.
As the registration form is open to anyone it is protected against certain security threats. If you get an error message saying your input contains invalid characters, please check it carefully and remove additional spaces and unnecessary punctuation marks.
When your details are accepted the page will change to show your MTQ number. We recommend you write this somewhere on your kit in indelible ink as it is proof you are a member of Midland Trailquests, and our organisers can verify your MTQ number is genuine. You will also be sent a confirmaton e-mail with your MTQ number and log in details. Please keep this in a safe place.
You can register by selecting Register from the Resources menu.

SECURE PASSWORD ADVICE
Although Midland Trailquests doesn't hold any financial information or credit cards our database still holds personal address and contact details for you. You should still use a secure password to protect these.
We strongly advise you to avoid using information that is well known about you such as any part of your name, address or contact details as these can easily be guessed. The same is true for simple terms relating to cycling or trailquesting such as the make of your bike. It is also advised not to use words that are in the dictionary as each dictionary word can be tried repeatedly by an automated programme.
Passwords are case-sensitive so the best advice is to use a combination of upper and lowecase letters plus some numbers. Don't just put a capital letter at the start of the password and the numbers at the end, mix them up. If you do this the chance of anyone cracking your password will be extremely slim.
LOGGING IN
You will need to log in to enter events and if you need to amend your registration details or change your password. Enter your MTQ number and your password. Remember passwords are case-sensitive. If you are having difficulty logging in, remember your log in details were e-mailed to you when you first regsitered and again every time you updated them. You should, therefore, be able to find them from the last of these e-mails.
The header section of the site always shows your log in status and if you are logged in, your name and MTQ number. You can log in by selecting the log in link in the header section on any page or by selecting Log In from the Resources menu.

FINDING AND GETTING DETAILS ABOUT EVENTS
You can get a list of future events by selecting Events Calendar from the Events & Results menu. This page lists out all events that have not had a result posted and shows the date of the event, its title, which organisation is responsible for it as well as its duration, location and which league, if any, the event belongs to.
Clicking Full Details will take you to a page showing all the details we currently have for that event. On the event details page you can see the organiser's details for posting your entry, the cost of pre and entries on the day, the closing date for pre-entries, the HQ location as well as any special information about the event that you need to be aware of.
The registration times show the period you have to register before starting the event and the start times show the earliest and latest time you can start riding in the event. There are also live links to e-mail the organiser and to find a map of the HQ location.
If you want to print the details out, click the Printable Version link to the left of the event name. This shows the same event details in a new window or tab but without the page header and sized to fit on A4 paper in portrait mode. You then have to select the print option from the menu or toolbar icon in your web browser.

ENTERING EVENTS
Once the event details have been finalised a Click Here To Enter This Event link will appear in the relevant event details page to the left of the event name. You must be logged in to enter an event as the entry from is completed automatically with the details you registered with. If you are logged in and click the Click Here To Enter This Event link then you will be asked to complete a short form.
First of all you must select whether you are riding solo or in a team of 2 from the drop down list. If you are riding solo, you do not need to complete any of the other fields.
If you are riding in a team of 2 you must also enter the MTQ number, post code and date of birth of your partner. This is done to ensure you really do know the other person as some of their personal details will be put onto the entry form. Note that your partner must also have previously registered as a Midland Trailquests member or you cannot enter with them.
If your partner is registered with us and but the post code and/or date of birth you have for them are shown not to be correct please check with your partner that you have accurate details and that you have input them correctly. If this still does not work ask your partner to log in, and check the details we hold for them by selecting Amend My Details from the Resources menu.
If you are riding solo or have successfully entered your partner's details then you will be taken to the event entry page which will show the details we hold for you and, if required, your partner. The site will automatically calculate the category you will be riding in.
Please note that your category is calculated from your age(s) on the date of the first event of the league, if the event is in a league. This is done so you remain in the same category throughout the league. If an event is marked as a Standalone Event that is not part of any league, then the category is calculated on your age(s) on the date of the event itself.
Please check your details are up to date and correct and if not click the My Details Need Amending link to correct them. If your partner's details are incorrect, please ask that person to log in and amend them by selectign Amend My Details from the Resources menu.
If everything is OK click the Click Here To Create An Entry Form Using These Details link. This will open up a new window or tab and will contain an entry form that can be printed to A4 paper in portrait mode, complete with all the information you need to send this to the organiser. To print the form off select the print option from the menu or toolbar icon in your web browser. Once you have printed the form sign it and get any partner to do the same. If either you or a partner are under 18 a signature from a parent or guardian will be required.
You then have a choice of posting the entry from together with a cheque for the amount indicated to the organiser or bringing the form along on the day with the higher entry on the day payment. We strongly recommend pre-entering all events as there are sometimes insufficient colour maps printed for everyone to have one and there is a 200 rider limit on each event.
FINDING EVENT RESULTS
To find the results for events, select Event Results from the Events & Results menu. This looks exactly like the events calendar but lists events with a result posted against them, with the most recent event posted first.
